Total War: THREE KINGDOMS is the new proposal of Creative Assembly for the saga of Total War  for this 2019. After the successful releases of TW: Warhammer 1 and 2, a segment of players was demanding a quality historical game since Thrones de Britannia was a regular game that  lacked in content and atractive mechanics.

TW: THREE KINGDOMS transports us to the era of the Three Kingdoms in ancient China around 190 AD, a state of internal strife and conspiracy between the warlords of the most prominent city-states of the moment: Wu, Shu and Wei. Here the glorious Han dynasty is on the verge of collapse. The new emperor, Emperor Xian, was manipulated by the warlord Dong Zhuo. The new warlords rise up and form alliances to start the campaign against Dong Zhuo, with each military commander having constantly changing personal and loyal ambitions

New features:

Game mode: Initially the game offers us 2 formats: Romance (based on the novel of the same name) where our generals are individually with superhuman abilities, which gives them a higher incidence in the battle and Classic, which is closer to historical documents leaves the generals with the skills of an ordinary man.

Guanxi System: Each character has unique personality, motivations, likes and dislikes. They can also create relationships with other characters, as well as negatives,having an impact on the way their history develops and on diplomacy.

Duels: one of the most impresive mechanics is the possibility that our generals can face 1 vs 1 with animations and exceptional acrobatic movements. If you are close to the other, the option of "duel"  will appear and the battle will end  when one of the contenders die or flee and that is going to reverberate in the battle and the campaign.

Wu Xing or "Elemental Phases": Water, Fire, Earth, Wood and Metal are the elements that grant properties to units, buildings and heroes. This system has the purpose of classifying an element with an aspect of the game and also as a system of stone-paper-scissors that allows a certain unit / heroes to be stronger or weaker in front of another.

Diplomacy: With a renewed system, diplomacy in this delivery. In this section, we can borrow from our allies  and decide its payment method, promise independence of vassal factions, threaten to go to war, exchange food for gold and now we have the option of "Quick Agreement" that will automatically suggest the agreement with greater probability of success saving us precious time.

Heroes: At the time of launch the game includes 11 legendary lords and heroes distributed in 3 kingdoms. In addition to a unique personality, each of our characters will belong to a class and will possess traits or attributes that will impact both the campaign and the battle and can they can be customized with unique equipment.

Development of technologies: In this release, the development of new technologies will be done with a very aesthetic interface in the form of a tree, where we will have to go forward through each of the branches to unlock the following functions that are classified in the Wu Xing system.

Espionage: This mechanic will allow us to seek or buy agents to introduce them in other factions and carry out actions such as killing, poisoning, gathering information from the enemy army and even manipulating them to incite a war. However it can happen that they discover our agent and he dies or becomes a double agent of the enemy.
